Iles Westover Chapel was the original location established by Charles Iles in 1960. For more than six decades, Westover has served as a central gathering place for families on the west side of Des Moines and surrounding communities.
Westover serves families from Johnston, Urbandale, West Des Moines, Waukee, Windsor Heights, Clive, and Des Moines. The location offers a large, well-lit parking lot and full accessibility for guests with mobility needs.

While the building’s footprint dates back to 1960, the interior has been intentionally refreshed for a modern feel. Flooring, paint, wall finishes, and lighting have all been updated to create a bright, welcoming environment that feels current and comfortable.
Westover includes two chapels, allowing the facility to support multiple services or visitations on the same day while maintaining a respectful flow throughout the building for each family.
The main chapel is one of the largest among Iles locations and can accommodate gatherings of 180-200 guests when needed. Modern sound and video systems support music, spoken tributes, and visual presentations, ensuring clarity throughout the space.

Westover includes a dedicated after-funeral reception room, offering families the option to host a sit-down meal or gathering without leaving the building. The space can accommodate up to 60 guests for a sit down meal and provides a meaningful option for families who value staying together after the service.
