Iles Grandview Park Chapel

Iles Grandview Park Chapel serves families throughout East Des Moines and surrounding areas. The funeral home is easily accessible from I-235 using either the Guthrie or Euclid exits, making it a convenient neighborhood location for families and guests. The location offers a large, well-lit parking lot and full accessibility for guests with mobility needs.

Built in 1970 by Gregory Gulick, an alumnus of Iles Dunn’s Chapel, the facility became family owned and operated again in 1988 when it was purchased by Charles W. Iles and renamed Iles Grandview Park Chapel.

A Spacious Facility Built for Large Gatherings

Grandview Park is the largest-capacity chapel among Iles locations. The building was renovated with updates focused on functionality, lighting, and flexibility for modern services.

The main chapel comfortably seats up to 200 guests, offering families an option for large services without needing to move to a church or off-site venue. This flexibility is especially important for families who prefer to hold all services in one location.

At the front of the chapel, wood-paneled cabinetry discreetly houses video monitors that can be raised or concealed depending on the family’s preferences. This allows the space to feel more traditional when desired or more contemporary when video tributes and visual elements are part of the service.

Reception Space Allowing Families to Host All Events in One Location

Grandview Park offers one of the most robust reception spaces among Iles chapels. Located on the lower level, the reception area is large, open, and designed to support full-scale gatherings.

The reception area can comfortably accommodate approximately 65 guests and is supported by a full kitchen that includes:

  • Refrigerator
  • Oven and range
  • Dishwasher
  • Ample prep and storage space

This setup allows families to host catered meals or family-provided food without leaving the building.

Retired Flag Program

Grandview Park Chapel serves as a collection site for worn and retired American flags as part of the Iles Retired Flag Program. Flags received at the funeral home are retired in a formal flag ceremony and then placed with a veteran for cremation.

Flags are accepted Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
