Robert M. Sweet, 79, died Friday, April 27, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Des Moines.
Bob was born in Blytheville, AR on June 11, 1932 one of the ten children of the late Dave and Rena (Stark) Sweet. He grew up in Oxnard, CA and had lived in the Des Moines area for the past 17 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded two purple hearts. He worked in the trucking industry.
Those left to cherish Bob's memory include his wife, Carol; daughters, Cheryl and Christina Sweet, Jessica Sparks, Lissa (Chris) Sampson and Penne (John) Mitchell as well as other extended family members.
